There are no special requirements in order to go rafting with us, but you should be able to swim and be in average physical condition.
We meet on Saltaus football field, next to the Hirzer cable car. From the spa town of Merano, it will take less than 15 minutes to drive to our rafting center. The drive from Scena, Dorf Tirol, Algund and Marling will take between 10 and 20 minutes. From Bolzano, the drive to reach us is 35 to 45 minutes.
Actually, always. After all, Merano has the best climate for rafting. We will do rafting trips on the wild Passer River from mid-May to the end of September. If you have three or more people, you can book your own rafting trip. Individual requests will be grouped together. We will have up to three rafting trips per day.
First the registration and payment is done, then the distribution of the material (helmets, wetsuits, life jackets, etc.) Afterwards everybody changes clothes (changing rooms available) and we drive you in our busses to the boarding point. There follows the briefing by the boat driver, which is an introduction to paddling technique and safety behaviour. After the briefing the tour starts, and from the exit we take you back to our rafting center in Saltaus.
The duration depends on the chosen route.
The Expedition Tour – as our longest descent – takes about 4 hours, of which we spend about 2 hours in the river.
The Adventure Tour takes about 3 ½ hours, of which we spend about 1 ½ hour in the river.
The Light Tour is about half an hour shorter than the Adventure Tour, and the Family Tour is about 2 ½ hours, of which we spend about 1 ¼ hour in the river.
Yes. All of our participants will get a life jacket, but everyone who wants to go rafting on Merano should have basic swimming skills.
Basically, yes, even when it is raining. If it has been raining for several days, then the tour may be subject to cancellation due to the high water level.
Bring a bikini or swimsuit or swimming trunks, a towel and whatever else you need for showering. If you want to take the free GoPro videos with you after your departure, don’t forget the micro SD card!
You can leave glasses and jewelry with us. As long as you don’t go white water swimming, you can keep your contact lenses in.
The equipment is cleaned after each departure with a special eco-friendly detergent for wetsuits.
If you want to have a fast-paced river trip, it is best to come between mid-May and the end of June. At this time the ice is melting and the water level is high.
If a storm is brewing overhead during the tour, we will stop, go to shore and exit the raft/canoe. Depending on the situation, we will either continue with the tour or cancel it.
It is best to reserve your white water rafting trip by phone. You can also make a reservation by email. In your email please specify the number of people, your phone number and desired dates.
You can pay for the rafting tour in cash at our rafting center in Saltaus. Vouchers can also be paid in advance by bank transfer.
